Private 66336, 12 th Battalion, City of London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers); formerly 46023, 3rd Northamptonshire Regiment. Killed in action Tuesday, 31 st July 1917 in Belgium, aged about 24. Born Rothersthorpe, Northamptonshire and enlisted in Northampton. Son of George and Mary Ann Jeffery.

Johnson, Samuel A

Johnson, Samuel A Private 3/9397, 2nd Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment. Missing in action and presumed killed Sunday, 9th May 1915 in Belgium. On this day the Battalion were in trenches in an orchard midway between Petillon and Rouges Blancs. Regimental history records of an attack at this time - “men fell in dozens, but in spite of heavy losses the survivors gallantly pressed forward”. His mother was still seeking any information in September 1915. He was born in All Saints, Northampton and enlisted in Northampton. Son of Mrs W Johnson of 3, Oxford Street, Far Cotton, Northampton.

Jones, Harry  Private 2529, 1/4 th, Northamptonshire Regiment.  Killed in action whilst on sentry duty on Sunday, 22 nd August 1915 at Gallipoli. Born in Northampton, he was the son of Mrs Jones of Elizabeth Terrace, Old Towcester Road, Northampton.

Kilsby, William John Sanby

Kilsby, William John Sanby  Driver T/31940, 17 th Railway Supply Company, Royal Army Service Corps. Died Friday, 6 th August 1915 in France, aged 20. Born Far Cotton, Northampton and enlisted in Northampton. Son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Kilsby of 31, Delapre Street, Far Cotton, Northampton and nephew of Mrs Kilsby of 3, Abbey Road, Far Cotton. He was formerly employed at Messrs. Rice foundry when he enlisted.

Kirton, John James

Private 14875, 6th, Northamptonshire Regiment. Killed in action Friday, 14th July 1916 in France, aged 21. At 4.30 a.m. on that day the Battalion lead an attack on Trones Wood and rushed the redoubt in the southern part of Central Trench at 6 a.m. after strong resistance. The wood was captured by 9 a.m. Born Rothersthorpe, Northampton and enlisted in Northampton. Son of James (deceased) and M. E. Kirton of 3111, Wooster Road, Rocky River, Ohio, USA (formerly 2, Henley Street, Far Cotton - 1901 Census).

Knight, Alfred Charles  Private 14752, 7th Battalion, “B” Company, Northamptonshire Regiment. Killed in action Monday, 27th September 1915 in France. Born Hardingstone, Northamptonshire, enlisted Northampton. Son of Mr & Mrs Knight of 125, St Leonards Road, Far Cotton, Northampton.

Lack, Arthur William

Lack, Arthur William  Private 227682, 47th Battalion, Canadian Infantry ( Western Ontario Regiment). Killed in action Tuesday, 21 st August 1917 in France, aged 26. Born Northampton, enlisted Canada May 1916 and went to France in February 1917. Husband of Mrs. A Lack of 51, Thirlestane Lane, Far Cotton (1917 article). Only son of Annie Lack, of 4, Gordon Street., Semilong, Northampton, and the late Ezra Lack.
